If you want to get rid of the AI (My AI) on Snapchat, your available options depend on whether you have a regular (free) account or a Snapchat+ (premium) subscription. Here are the steps for both free users and subscribers:
For Free (Regular) Snapchat Users:
- Unpin or Hide My AI: Open Snapchat, go to your chat screen, press and hold on My AI, tap “Chat and Notification Settings,” and select “Unpin conversation.” This action will remove My AI from the top of your chat feed, but not delete it completely. My AI will still be accessible if you scroll through your chat list or interact with it again[1][4][6].
- Clear from Chat Feed: From the chat screen, press and hold My AI, go to “Chat Settings,” and select “Clear from Chat Feed.” This makes the chat disappear for now, but it will return if you send another message or Snapchat sends you an update featuring My AI[1][3][7]. For free users, there is currently no way to completely remove My AI; you can only temporarily hide it.
- Restrict My AI’s Access to Stories: Open the Chats tab, press and hold My AI, go to Privacy Settings, and disable “My Story.” This prevents My AI from accessing your Snapchat Stories[2][3].
- Delete My AI Data: Tap your profile icon, go to privacy controls, tap Clear Data, then Clear My AI Data. This removes stored data but does not remove the chat bot itself[2].
For Snapchat+ (Premium) Subscribers:
- Permanently Remove My AI: Snapchat+ subscribers can fully remove My AI from their chat feed. To do this, press and hold on the My AI chat, tap “Chat Settings,” and select “Clear from Chat Feed.” This will make My AI disappear from your chat screen entirely until you decide to interact with it again. This feature is exclusive to subscribers and is not available to free users[2][5][6].
Note: Unpinning or hiding My AI does not turn off other AI features in Snapchat, such as AI-powered filters and personalized suggestions. There is currently no universal setting to opt out of all Snapchat AI functionality, and permanent removal is limited to subscribers[1][5].
