You cannot completely remove Meta AI from Facebook, but you can mute the Meta AI chatbot to reduce its presence and disable notifications and interactions. To do this, open the Facebook app, tap the search bar, select the Meta AI (blue-gradient circle), tap the “i” icon (top right), choose “Mute,” and then select “Until I change it” to mute it indefinitely[4][5][2].
Additionally, if you want to limit your data being used for Meta’s AI training (especially if you are in the EU or UK), go to your Facebook Settings & Privacy > Privacy Center, select Privacy Topics, and then AI at Meta. Submit an objection request by providing your email associated with your profile and explaining how AI data processing affects you[1][3].
It is not possible to entirely disable or turn off Meta AI as an integrated feature; the best options currently available are to mute AI features and, for EU/UK users, file data processing objections[3].
